Job Title: Worker's Compensation Claims Manager/Adjustor
Job Location: Independence, OH (on site)
Salary: $50K-$60K+ commensurate with level and experience
Requirements: Worker's Comp, Claims Management, OH Bureau of WC guidelines

What You Will Be Doing

- Manage State Fund Workers' Compensation 
- Communicate, coordinate & collaborate with attorneys, injured workers, MCOs, companies and the BWC in order to properly manage and administer workers compensation claims in the State of Ohio
- Perform initial/subsequent claims investigation with companies and administers the claim process to determine coverage, compensability, and work status of the claimant, salary continuation, and settlement of claims
- Determine when attorney involvement is necessary in managing claims and makes necessary referrals
- Determine catastrophic, amputations, death claims, statutory occupational disease, and Permanent Total Disability benefits 
- Coordinate with MCOs for C9 (treatment request)
- Review claims and claim reserves for possible settlements and impact on state fund employers premiums

What You Need for this Position

- 2+ years related WC claims experience
- Knowledge of OH Bureau Workers Comp guidelines and regulations
- Ability to read and understand medical documentation
- Ability to advise employers on whether to allow or deny claims based on facts, prepare and file appropriate forms with the Bureau of Workers Compensation, identify care needs, establish a plan of action and communicate with medical and/or insurance providers, injured workers and the employers to successfully return the injured worker back to work
- Experience in a law firm/legal setting is preferred
