Established IP Firm Seeking Trademark Prosecution Attorney in Alexandria, VA
An intellectual property boutique firm with nearly 20 years of experience serving global innovators, startups, and Fortune 500 companies is seeking a Trademark Prosecution Attorney to join its Alexandria, VA office. The firm is located steps from the USPTO and is known for its sophisticated IP practice spanning trademark, patent, and litigation services. This position offers the opportunity to manage domestic and international trademark portfolios, advise on brand protection strategies, and work closely with a collaborative team of IP professionals.
Offer:
$130,000 - $170,000 annual base salary depending on experience and client portfolio

Qualifications:
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to practice in VA and/or DC
3+ years of experience in trademark prosecution and counseling, preferably in a law firm or IP-focused practice
Proficiency in domestic and international trademark clearance, registration, and enforcement
Experience managing global trademark portfolios and working with foreign associates
Strong legal research, writing, and client communication skills
USPTO experience and TTAB practice preferred
Responsibilities:
Advise clients on trademark selection, clearance, and filing strategies in the U.S. and abroad
Prepare and prosecute trademark applications through the USPTO and coordinate international filings
Respond to office actions and manage proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB)
Monitor, maintain, and enforce trademark rights through oppositions, cancellations, and cease-and-desist communications
Conduct due diligence for trademark-related transactions and IP portfolio evaluations
Work directly with clients on brand protection strategy and trademark risk assessment
