Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and supervise staff members, participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management. Responsibilities include:

  • Assumes Engineer of Record role for Mechanical and Plumbing disciplines
  • Provide overall direction for the MEP design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets and schedules to ensure on-time, quality, and on-budget project execution
  • Responsible for the designs and development of HVAC and plumbing systems
  • Perform and verify load calculations for HVAC and plumbing systems
  • Perform CA tasks, review submittals/shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and attend CA meetings
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate field installations and conduct field observations
  • Manage assigned projects including coordination and direction for the design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work while maintaining quality standards on all projects
  • Lead design and construction meetings
  • Mentor junior team members, and assign duties to design staff
  • Provide periodic objective and comprehensive employee check-ins in support of Annual Performance Reviews
  • Prepare and monitor contracts, fee proposals, and contract negotiations
  • Collaborate with Business Development to build relationships and foster repeat work

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Institution
  • Current Professional Engineering License
  • A minimum of 5 years as a Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Ability to obtain Professional Licensure in the State of Texas
  • 10+ years of MEP Design experience specifically in Municipal/Aviation, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial Office sectors
  • 7+ years of hands-on MEP Design Experience
  • 3+ years of Project Management Experience
  • 3+ years of Supervisory Experience directly over an MEP Design Team
