Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and supervise staff members, participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management. Responsibilities include:
- Assumes Engineer of Record role for Mechanical and Plumbing disciplines
- Provide overall direction for the MEP design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets and schedules to ensure on-time, quality, and on-budget project execution
- Responsible for the designs and development of HVAC and plumbing systems
- Perform and verify load calculations for HVAC and plumbing systems
- Perform CA tasks, review submittals/shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and attend CA meetings
- Conduct site visits to evaluate field installations and conduct field observations
- Manage assigned projects including coordination and direction for the design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work while maintaining quality standards on all projects
- Lead design and construction meetings
- Mentor junior team members, and assign duties to design staff
- Provide periodic objective and comprehensive employee check-ins in support of Annual Performance Reviews
- Prepare and monitor contracts, fee proposals, and contract negotiations
- Collaborate with Business Development to build relationships and foster repeat work
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Institution
- Current Professional Engineering License
- A minimum of 5 years as a Licensed Professional Engineer
- Ability to obtain Professional Licensure in the State of Texas
- 10+ years of MEP Design experience specifically in Municipal/Aviation, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial Office sectors
- 7+ years of hands-on MEP Design Experience
- 3+ years of Project Management Experience
- 3+ years of Supervisory Experience directly over an MEP Design Team
