  1. Can you tell me about the types of clients this firm typically represents?
  2. What are the firm’s short-term and long-term goals?
  3. How does the firm measure its own success?
  4. How is the firm working to remain up to date with changes in the law and legal industry?

4 Questions About Career Growth Opportunities

  1. What are the opportunities for career advancement that exist within this firm for a paralegal?
  2. How do you conduct performance reviews for paralegals?
  3. Are you able to provide me with some examples of career paths that have been taken by other paralegals here at the firm?
  4. Are there senior and junior paralegal positions here at the firm, and if so, what does it take to become a senior paralegal?

4 Questions About Team and Work Environment

  1. What can you tell me about the attorneys on the team I will be working with?
  2. Can you provide me with some examples of how the firm encourages collaboration between its paralegals and attorneys?
  3. What is the management style of the person I would be reporting to?
  4. Does the firm conduct any team-building activities or social events for legal support staff?

  1. Can you describe the training process for new paralegals hired at the firm?
  2. Does the firm offer any onboarding training for new paralegals?
  3. Are there opportunities for continuing education and professional development?
  4. Does the firm support paralegals in obtaining certifications or further qualifications?

  1. What types of legal software or technology does the firm use for document management and legal research?
  2. What paralegal specific technologies does the firm offer to assist paralegals in performing their work?

2 Questions About Workload

  1. Are there periods during the year where demand is greater, and the workload is heavier?
  2. What is the anticipated workload for paralegals and how are deadlines managed?
